surfbabe SG Singaporeans and Singaporean PRs can buy M'sian car for travelling within M'sia but can't drive out to Singapore. VEP is meant for M'sians driving M'sian-registered cars.
surfbabe SG Considering that. Only cons is that I gotta get up v early cos I can't be on the roads between 7am and 7pm.
huoye SG pls do not get a OPC. u pay so much for restricted usage? it aint worth it in my opinion. since nick34 want to change car. den u buy from him lor nick mai scold me hor
shining_force SG One thing first, u mean the old swif or the latest ones. Not too sure if you can find good 2nd hand swif noe. Are you one who is paranoid?, If u have the the slightest inclnation then u might as well forget it> Cos 1 small problem even though not due to the 2 nd hand car inherent buying condition and u might start lamenting toyuself into buyin 2nd cars.
surfbabe SG It's the old Swift. Don't think I can find the latest models on sale as second hand cars. The recent news about the couple being suffocated by exhaust gas in the guy's Suzuki Swift has made me think twice about getting one.
huoye SG there is the new swift out in the market. you just got to spend some effort looking for it. and with regards to the couple in the old swift. u thinking of doing what they were doing in the car thus ur worries...........
Praetorian111 SG Swift is rather underpowered and faces a potential problem of overheating. the road tax is more expensive compare to new ones of it's class, and it will need to be inspected every year. (Not easy to pass nowadays) If you are really considering a cheap form of transport it will be picanto or kelisa (If you divide the loans by the number of useful life it may just add up to be the same) cheers
dcx SG Old Suzuki swift....hMz....dunno abt the rest though, but my personal views on this car model is not that good....especially 2nd hand (maybe 3rd or 4th or 5th hand liao)....but for what i know, there're some new drivers who got their license n bought Swift...and well...u know....normally they would push the car to the max.
skthk SG hmm .. really but OPC monthly expenses shld be half of a normal ? cos like me poor thinking of OPC, deduct $17K & road tax maybe $50. then normal car use more pay more - parking, petrol, shld be Double.
m_cch SG If u wan to get 2nd hand car, u muz make sure do maintenance regularly else bless that ur car wont break down in causeway... And another thing is old car air-con break down frequently... So u willing to pay RM20 everytime u enter M'sia...?
exkiwi SG You are smart, not many young men think like you. Go for 10 years old Nissan March. Very reliable, good FC and cheap to maintain. Only 1 litre engine. Lowest depreciation. Good luck.
