Bought an evo

Inzaghi SG

nope, its true...the car mag cleary states the bhp as 320.....n extra 40 bph is very good liao leh, just an ecu change to ralli art type

Blackgalant81 SG

they juz replace the original ecu with the ralliart ecu.. and ur right.. its not really putting out 320. becos u need to match it with all the ralliart parts to really put out 320.. i dynoed mine and it was juz 320 with the ralliart parts and stock exos and intake.. So the one C&C is selling which they only replace the ecu wont put out 320.

one pt to note was torque increase was tremendous.. abt 50kg/m...up from 41.7kg/m

ditzy SG

So the only difference is one will get you to the traffic lights faster? Laughing I can live with that.

[email protected] SG

no i want an evo for that. can? Laughing

eh u basket one leh. now got msn also never tell me. then i add u u also never come online :S

tailslide SG

i guessed as much. a fren who's done up his with xos, intake and cams plus full management was putting out juz under 400 bhp. really doubt a simple ecu swap will work wonders.

Blackgalant81 SG

hmm.. but ur fren's one isn't a 9 i guess?? cos with those mods u mentioned above, quite a number of E9s i've seen are above 400bhp.. over 350bhp on the wheels.. (not on ST dyno)

but of course, it depends on which dyno he went to since ST dyno is known to be more conservative..

tailslide SG

buy 4 u, u also not here 2 drive it. Laughing busy for the past few days mah Cool

tailslide SG

u are rite. his is an xiii, but i was refering to under 400 bhp on wheel done at cheng poh's dyno. dats close to 450 at the flywheel.

casshern SG

but is it of japanese technology?

drumstick SG

Eh... this sentence a bit wrong leh. You would be surprise in SG, there are still some crazy driver. You seen before swift GTI(lots of mod inside the bonnet) take on a wrx? Chiong in SG need to be tactical one. Open eyes big big survey place first. As for regarding super cars, saw at night along orchard, 1 lambo, 1 sti, beemer 6.45 playing catching. An sti play with lambo...what do u tink.

There are still quite a number of crazy drivers in singapore. u see them quiet quiet tot nothing, when they show u power u suck thumb ar... LL liao.

Wan to know whether got this type of thing happen, go driving at night on friday and saturday after mid night till 5am. You will see quite a few funny things which happens on SG road.

freakass SG

Im sure the lambo and the beemer were the ones playing catching... then the sti joined it even though the other 2 cars dont really bother about it... cmon lah, the sti can never be placed together with a beemer, let alone a lambo... long time ago when the new 7 series was released, straits times reported that it can zoom past a screaming wrx on the highway easily... even such a stiff and heavy beemer could outrun a wrx at top speed....

it's not about the driver's skill... it's about the car's performance.. i agree with you tht a good driver can do miracles with a not-so-good car, but tht's not the point u see... if u place that good driver in a good car, then the good car will be even better...

[email protected] SG

in a way, it was technology imported from Scotland to start it off. Ok yea u could say its "jap technology" now, but today's car manufacturers hire people of all nationalities so in the end if u want to determine what philosophy they work under, u have to look at who founded them, and it becomes British technology.

[email protected] SG

send me the $ to buy in uk. its cheaper leh, only S$72,800 here. Laughing

ölala SG

yea evo 9 320...
its dyno proven to chur out 320bhp unlike the usual 280 bhp

but still i tink its kinda of a waste for ur sis to drive that car if shes nt fully utilising it lyk bring it to the tracks

else she culd have take the 280bhp series

zgim80 SG

u do realise dat whether its 280bhp, 320bhp, 400bhp or 2898989366bhp, even e ralliart gearbox isn't dat good? u can accel on gear3 on a 645 far easier than a evo.. e huge turbolag doesn't help Neutral

ölala SG

o yea the turbo lag!

fkin iritate to lotsa racer

but dosent their evo9 320 have this rally art ECU attached?
ignition sparks does help to reduce turbo lags too

~WRX sti~ SG

but evo 9 still have turbo lag.... but not the serious la... Smile

Blackgalant81 SG

any of u guys actually own or drive the evo 9 gsr with mag turbo??
i seriously dun think mine has noticeable lag esp if u whack from 1st gear onwards.. downshift to correct gear.. there is virtually no turbo lag.. floor the throttle, the car just pulls... dunno abt the GT.. but GSR has closer gear ratio..

tune it up with a aftermarket ecu.. the pull and acceleration is even crazier.. spools ridiculously fast..

zgim80 SG

try from gear 3.. will die ah!! anyway, my friend in australia, (e8 ) had an ingenious(if not too common) way of handling the problem.. which is to install a 2nd smaller turbo.. he had to experiment a long time to link e 2 turbos properly, n den e issue of squeezing e damn turbo into an already very full engine bay.. dunno wat he took out to accomodate e new turbo..

ölala SG

btw evo9 gsr boost up at low rpm or high rpm?
