YAMAGUCHI —
One of two men who were swept downstream from a campsite a day
earlier was found dead Monday in the Oze River in Iwakuni,
Yamaguchi Prefecture, police said. The man, believed to be Kenichi
Kawamura, an 18-year-old college student from Hiroshima, was found
around 8:15 a.m. about 200 meters downstream in cardiopulmonary
arrest and was confirmed dead at hospital, police and firefighters
said.
Police continued to search for Keisuke Inoue, a 24-year-old company
employee also from Hiroshima who remains missing after a failed
attempt to rescue Kawamura, they said.
