I know but I never expected the Focus to be as expensive as that in Singapore. I'm just shocked at the taxes, fees, etc that have been loaded on the price. Especially when the base price starts at US$10K.

I personally think it's not a good choice to buy a Ford in Singapore. It's way overhyped over here, but in US, it's the one car that people avoids touching even with a barge pole. And it's really cheap over in the States, but highly marked up over here. Way too much.

It's very natural that people over there are shocked at the crazy prizes we pay for a Ford.

We almost bought a Focus wagon because it was cheap. It would have cost us US$15K. Have you heard of this: Ford = Found On Road, Dead. Laughing In the end, we bought a Jetta wagon instead. Even though it was about US$2K more, feature for feature it had more to offer and had better reviews.

We're thinking about getting a hybrid. Either the Prius or the Civic. Prices start from US$23K. What's the hybrid situation like over there?

4000/100 = 40 hrs per month say 30 days per month.. u get about 1.33hrs per day driving at 100kph!

across island.. say 40km only..

because for 330CI, the fuel consumption is around 10km/ litre on expressway but if on small road, easily around 5-8km/ litre.

330CI is quite heavy so need alot of fuel to acceralate.

I would say even if this is fake, but the breakdown in expenses looked real enough to suggest the actual cost of owning an expensive car in Singapore. Even if the writer didn't own one, he sure knows how much it cost to own one. As compared to your tamiya car, he actually produced more info and input for everyone.
