Any one owns the new Ford Focus hatch ?

Hi people,

i am currently on the lookout for my 1st set of wheels and i have streamlined it to the Ford Focus hatchback 1.6 A. I test driven it along with other cars including the Pug 307 and Renault Megane. But the dyanamic of the Focus edges out the rest.

Does anyone in the forum own this model ? Any comments will be great.

hmm ...the Ghia model most probably. How much is it now ?? I test drove it 2 mths back before being sent overseas for a short assignment stint. now that i am back , want to actively look ard for my car.

I think its the road handling of the focus that has the edge over the others. Build quality is on par with the rest. Unless i can convicne myself to buy a Golf .....thats also another car on my list, but its kinda of stretching the dollar abit more

Being a focus driver, my comments will more likely lean towards the focus "la".
IMHO, the pug 307 is overpriced in SG, the renault megane is more of comfort rather than driving dynamics.
The MKII focus offers relatively good handling when compared between the two above mentioned models. However the megane and 307 offer better equipment and frills. Still, since you enjoyed the focus drive i encourage you to work your finances out becos the focus is quite value for money. Forget what people say about its reliability; i havent encountered any with mine albeit its the previous generation model.

Hmm ...well i always placed ride and drive above finishing. Thats why i initally drove the Alfa 147, the drive fantastic, sounds glorious but the car seems to be coming apart after a while ... Mr. Green

Ford's pretty a reliable car IMO.My friend's dad Mondeo been ard for 5 yrs and its still pretty well fitted. So i'm not too concerned abt the pricing.

But itseems that not many ppl in sgforums do drive ford cars aye ? Their new Focus is blazing down the WRC tracks ..the car to watch ...

but its power is kinda sucky if u ask me...0-100 times are slow....honestly i epxected something better than that...which is y at 1st i was aiming to get a focus ST...but then realised tt its N/A in sg.... Confused

N/A ST provides a good challenge to the WRX. Its still cheaper to maintain than a TC-ed car and the power is there whenever you need it without having to spool your turbo.

Hmm u intending to take a 10 yr loan ? I'm planning to pay $13,000 up front. hmm ...but does the Ghia model comes with a dashboard integrated radio/CD system ? the last time i test drove, they fix a Sony player on it ..kinda of sticking out from the dashboard which caught my eye ..

ya.. take 10 yrs lor... even if i down 15k, every mth still need ard 600+?? tts quite abit eh.. i hope the focus dun give probs eh...
