Did you use microwave? Cause its relatively common for these
kinds of things to happen in a microwave, as compared to using
kettle boiled water.
I am sure your glass did not "explode", it merely cracked loudly
and smashed on the floor. Either you chilled the glass, and the hot
water caused the inner layer to expand rapidly. Or your glass
really sux.
