Off Peak Car help on bidding and immediate

Hi, i'm new here^^ Would like to ask is there any OPC owners here that i can seek some help of.

If i want to buy a new car from hyundai but i want it in OPC off-peak car. Do i still need to bid the COE? i ask a SC and receive a reply with 2 amount, price bidding and price immediate, which is $3k more... whats the difference?

If i choose the bidding (to save $3k), i will get a chance of not getting my COE? even its a OPC??? opc owner pls help

immediate bidding means.. you will get the car immediately.. you pay premium for that.. otherwise.. you go for 6 biddings.. no guarantee of getting a coe.

Hi Kat..

I just got my COE yesterday from Borneo Motors Toyota. Mine's also an OPC car. I also opted for the non-guaranteed COE which is 1-2K cheaper.. of course there's a risk that the after 6 biddings you may not get your COE and some PIs or car agents may even ask you to top-up some cash in order to secure the COE

But not to worry... I'm sure you can get it within 4 biddings 'cos the COE price is pretty stable from the last few biddings and I dun foresee much fluctuations at least for the next 3 months.

I managed to get my COE after only 2nd bidding Mr. Green

But b4 you get an OPC car.. maybe you wanna think about your needs and budget... 'cos OPC cars only useable between 7 - 7pm (Mon to Fri) and Sat from 3pm onwards. But of course there's a $17K rebate on car price and $800 rebate on your yearly road tax.

btw my monthly bring home salary is about 1.3k-1.5k, so any good cars that i can get with my income?? and how much is the lancer 1.6lit OPC from mitsubishi with manual gear(cheaper) anyone know??

is lancer the cheapest 1.6l car for OPC?? lancer driver pls give some info thanks!!

Wat is your budget?? and the monthly installment you could afford per month? Actually there's also the Perodua Kelisa which I do not have the actual price. But I heard it's the cheapest car around.

I suggests you go for a test drive first to get a feel of the cars you felt more comfortable with.

Apologised.. din't convert to the OPC price for ya. Those price that I quoted is for normal cars, so u just need to minus off $17K from the listed price.. so for ex.

Lancer 1.6 Manual <<<<<<<< Norm
$48,488

OPC price = $48,488 - $17000
= 31488

So if u put $10K deposit for example... monthly payment around $300 plus

Sorry to say, but with a income of take-home 1.5k, I don't think you can afford a car comfortably. Are you willing to work and save like hell for your car. Generally for cheap OPC (talking about Kelisa), you need about S$600-S$700 per month.

just let me share abit...for the 1st question on 10 yr loan
current price 35.9k
OPC= 18.9k
assuming u pay 3.9k as downpayment, tt means u will be taking loan of 15k.
spread over 10 yrs at interest of 3.5% u will have to pay about $168.75/mth

Cost a month would be...
Mthly installment -$168.75
car insurance (i assume u just get licence abt 22-28yrs) abt $1500/yr = $125/mth
Petrol (since OPC) abt $100 a month
Parking (assume MSCP) =$90
Road Tax (OPC) = $50/yr = $4.2/mth
miscellaneous (Parking coupon, ERP etc)= $50 a month

Total =$437.95/ mth

Now..assuming you join this forum, I predict soon you will get 'poison' also.

So must include...Modding expenses

Say monthly average $150

So grand total would be

$587.95

Sad to say with that kind of take home pay, guess you're not ready to own a car.

Yah.. I agree. It's not easy to maintain a car. That's why I considered for sometime before doing the plunge...

While most of my colleagues already did that 1 - 2 yrs back when COE is ard 20k range..

i didn't know 1.5k income is not enough to get a car in sg.. i thought of spending $600-$700 the most for the car monthly. then save the rest of the money, sometimes drive out abit for like 4-5 times a month..

But nvm now i know it, should be back in this car forum like 3 years later. Thanks for all the help people~
