A dog won't listen if you haven't established yourself as the
"master". Your pet should always be clear that YOU are the alpha
"dog", and not it. You should always be in control. If you aren't,
don't let it slide.. don't be afraid to exert your authority
(within reason).
When a dog behaves badly, there should always be some form of
punishment meted out.. Speak in authoritative booming tones (deep
voices commands the most respect in dogs), don't break eye
contact... make large, deliberate hand gestures when demanding
obedience. But be fair to the dog or it will become confused and/or
fearful. When it behaves correctly, reward it.
My dog used to only listen to my brother, and not my mother.. once
I moved back to the house, it was very disobedient towards me at
1st, but I persisted with the "alpha female" techniques and now it
listens to me. Hope it helps.
