fUnny noises at the wheel

kinda of got a question, my car has been producing a fuuny thudding noise at the front of the wheel, it is a slow thudding noise tat will follow accordingly to the speed of the car. the sounds is sort of like when u go over the road stripes those kind.

i m not realli sure wat had happen, but according to my frenz who is also a amatuer, it either i rush over puddles of water at high speed, or i hit into someting, thus there cracks at the wheel part.

I was wondering, if anyone here know what the problem might be ? if yes, is it very serious ??

try go wheel balancing…ur wheel may be unbalance…did u hit something or have an accident recently?

Maybe your drive shaft is gone.. this happen suddendly or has been happening for a while especially when u turn the steering?

I think tyre is about to fail. Usually will see an uneven bump on the wheel, causing unbalanced wheel. If left unchecked, tyre will have a bald patch very fast, or there will be squeaking sound indicating bearing failure.

are the noises accompanied by vibrations?

if so then most probably tyre problem.

thanz for the info guys~ well i took a good look at the wheels, n i found out tat both the left wheels the rims had scratches n small crack on one of dem. is tis very serious ? i do remeber striking a kerb at the entry of the carpark when i was tryin to enter intercontinetal hotel at bugis from middle street there. so is tis very serious ? it actually my dad’s car, it a 2.4 camry, so i m hoping to hav it done before he gets back to town

Your absorber might be leaking lubricants. Have it checked.

Err.. scratches normally not serious..

But crack is very serious, as dynamic forces will simply open up the crack.

Your rims are warped. At high speed, u are likely to crash. Have it changed ASAP.

You might really have to bring it down to the w/s to have a look.
Theres quite a few things which can result in that sound.

The internal disc rusted and the surface of the disc becomes uneven, as it turn, whenever it hit that spot, there could be a sound. Most probably is at the tip of the circumference. Not on the shiny surface. Maybe need to go for some scraping or knocking to get rid part of the rust.

The tyre has been taken out and putting it back was not done properly.

Because you say it sounds like going over the stripes, i would think most probably is the same situation as mine.

Even if your tyre wall is uneven or crack or due to wear and tear, it most probably wun make that sound of going over stripes, at the most is noisy tyre. Aligntment runned would result in noisy tyre or steering alignment run.
I kenna this after I came back from Genting. Went JB to do alignment 4 wheels cost only 15 ringgit.Very cheap.

oh okie…if tat the case, like sae it the pin tat spoilt, if were to b repair how much would tat cost ? i read on some of the mechz page, n it might also be the spring or someting lik tat tat is crack or broken, do those cost much ? i doubt i can drive to jb to do it la..

Why dun u go workshop ask for a free inspection instead of asking such questions on forum? U can ask till ur dad comes back and still the sound will be there. Laughing
