psychophant SG please correct me if i'm wrong. the 'buffet menu' was deceptively crafted as follows: Buffet Menu Tom Yum Prawns With Sweet & Sour Sauce Sandwich Selection Oriental Vegetable Spring Rolls Spicy Marinated Chicken Wings Mini Lamb Kebabs and Minted Sour Cream Spicy Vegetbale Crackers Crispy Game Chips Basket Of Seasonal Fruits could've just bought an entire box of Maggi Mee with my 10 pounds and feed an entire African nation. at least we get a glass of wine each. thanks!!!
Werewolf SG true lah but..........don't too tiao ti lah want to eat, go back singapore loh at least, one would have trouble preparing such dishes if one cooks by himself/herself..... somemore, give the committee some encouragement ma Originally posted by psychophant: please correct me if i'm wrong. the 'buffet menu' was deceptively crafted as follows: [b]Buffet Menu Tom Yum Prawns With Sweet & Sour Sauce Sandwich Selection Oriental Vegetable Spring Rolls Spicy Marinated Chicken Wings Mini Lamb Kebabs and Minted Sour Cream Spicy Vegetbale Crackers Crispy Game Chips Basket Of Seasonal Fruits could've just bought an entire box of Maggi Mee with my 10 pounds and feed an entire African nation. at least we get a glass of wine each. thanks!!! psychophant SG o'hairy werewolf, its pretty obvious that you have not heard (let alone practice) about 'keeping a promise' (let alone 10 of them). its not the quality of food i was bitching about. but its the type of food promised by our oh-so-generous comm. practice what you preach. and not everyone has the luxury of flying back home to sample local delicacies as often as you (a spoilt brat) might suggest. some ppl had to sell their souls for 10 sterling pounds.
RedSorrow SG OH boo-hoo, psychophant, cut the comm some slack. It's one of their first events and they were decepted by Bar38, It's got nothing to do with 'generosity'. As for the ten pounds that you had to 'sell your soul' for... That's too bad. It's a hard life, isn't it. Go throw a brick in bar38's window.... Bloody hate these whinging people.
Werewolf SG Now, this is interesting............. how did I offend you in anyway? did I happen to be the one to give you the promise that the food is good? or am I in the committee? Considering the 'singapore society' was kind enough to organise such a function for us and spending their time and effort to do it, one should at least be grateful for the effort. Did you see how stressed the president was? did you know they have their troubles too? Hmmm, perhaps as callous and insensitive as you are, you simply 'expect' to get good stuff everytime you are around. Ah well, tough life around here. Maybe you should be the one to organise such a 'buffet' outing next time for us eh? Anyway, have fun.
psychophant SG tell me something, folks.... what does one do when faced with criticism? a)give oneself a sympathy pat, blame external parties and say ,'Cest la vie!' or b)accept the criticism as a negative form of feedback for improvement? according to the 'general' public, seems like 'a)' is the recommended option. but then again, what do i know? i am just a whinging cheap-skate who throws bricks at ppl's windows.... defensive, arent we all?
RedSorrow SG You and your satirical rhetorics aren't exactly constructive criticism. Strip aside your brilliant eloquence you are merely saying "This was shit". Okay. that's great. We were all ripped off there, not just those of you who sold your souls. Let's face it, you weren't out there trying to build a better future for us all.. You're just here to tread on well-meaning people and their vain efforts. Hurrah for you. NOBODY in the committee is patting themselves on the back. You don't know how distraught the president is over this event, and you can be sure that she is aiming to do better next time.
