I have a Doctor of Business Administration degree from
Macquarie.
Status wise, not much diff from any other professionals, I
feel.
Socially, you are addressed as "Dr so-and-so" naturally as an
acknowledgement of your academic achievements. For some that brings
extreme pleasure and pride. For others its just social
superficiality.
I do not use my Dr title except in academic conferences and in my
professional circle. I go by "Mr." for all other occasions
(reservations, club memberships, cocktails, social introductions
etc) No call for the "Dr." title for those occasions I think.
