hmmm.. think about this..

two brown coal power stations are being built a week in China...

that's about 100 power stations a year being built.. using brown coal.. so much so that even the authorities in China are running scared.. not to mention the number of unauthorised power stations...

do the math..

btw.. politicians are still sewing their eyes shut over this.. they are still trying to increase the population in their own nations...

the scientists have calculated and mapped it all out.. we are severely overpopulated..

think about this.. and think about the 6.5 million we are told to prepare for..

and think about every country out there trying to do the same...

as previously noted, viable clean technology exists. it is up to the rich guys to implement this new technology. (solar/glass panels) and up to the scientists to continue to improve on the existing design.

people want electricity.
with this new technology that can be fitted on buildings at the moment, we can cut down a lot on pollution.

if technology is high enough that an aircraft is powered electrically, this panel can be used to power it.

come one day, we will have no use of crude oil anymore, because everything is "green power". and any mention of the use of crude oil or coal for power or propulsion or any uses would be deemed as "barbaric".

if technology is high enough, mankind can colonise star systems, and even if a planet is destroyed because its star expires, mankind still lives.

therefore, i believe that everything can be solved with technology.

the downside of increasing technology is the ever increasing lust of man for wealth and power.

mankind will always continue to invent something new to kill itself more efficiently.

there is a plateau where it is the absolute limit..

be aware, know... and to have the courage to want to change.. to get others to know about the need and the ability to change...

with that, from ground up, we can change.. because ultimately, politicians work for the people, not the other way around... and if we can remind them of that, and keep them on their toes, give them a hard time, they will make the correct decisions..

the global situation is like a giant Prisoners' Dilemma... where if all make the correct decision, all gain... if one screws the others, he gains and everyone else is screwed... and if everyone attempts to screw everyone else, all will die...

so far, the capitalists have screwed the rest of humanity...

in SG, we r pretty much working for the politicians. say anything wrong, SOC come to your house, or kenna sue until bankrupt + print the face on the newspaper.

from our exchange, i gather that we are agreeing on the issue.

while technology is a sure way to man's own salvation, it is up to the human being to allow itself to be saved or not.

like i noted in the prev post, the politician u voted for may not actually do it. if he does, great. if he doesnt, sux thumb.

for the will of the people... i do not think that those on top in SG will listen unless u own weapons.

see for yourselves. once u vote this party, everything increases. same as 5 years ago.

it cannot be depended upon for miracles..

as in SG, we can.. the politicians must be made to realise that they are working for us.. not the other way around..

and when people realise the power of the people, it will change.. it's already changing.. when a totally untested, kamikaze team went to challenge the PM's team, they took over 33% away from him

However, technology is just a tool. It should not be the one to guide us into the future, nor should it be left behind. It is a tool that we must make the right use of.
