But I was thinking, if WHO are giving us the signal to
conserve the envionrment, then why hybrid technology
are currently offered on luxury cars, with the Prius and Civic
Hybrid? All are so expensive..... If they want us to buy hybrid
cars...first make them affordable then perhaps we can
consider.... I suggest they put those hybrid technology more
on mass-market models like Latio, Lancer, Altis or even Chery QQ. I
believe their prices won't be so expensive and more people can
afford.
Nope, check out the prices of hybrids in like UK or US. Civic
Hybrids and Prius Hybrids are affordable there. It's because the
government there support you to drive a clean and green car, hence
taxes imposed on a hybrid is less than taxes imposed on a normal
car.
But the Singapore government ain't willing to give rebates on
hybrid and diesel cars yet, hence hybrids are more expensive than
their conventional counterparts in Singapore. Otherwise, with more
rebates, I bet a Civic Hybrid will cost around the same as a normal
Civic.
