Marco_Simone SG Check out this clip from The Price of Peace http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6aMbQ32NR8Q The guy in white is a Japanese army officer. He is chasing after an anti-Japanese guerilla fighter(James Lye).By letting him go,he is in a way, disobeying his orders and betraying his country. Ivy Lee is a local(Singaporean) who fell for him. Here is that Japanese army officer killing people like flies. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6aMbQ32NR8Q
Deino SG if i'm not wrong she came to Singapore or was it Java back then and got married to my great grandad who was of Javanese backround......should be during world war two time coz she was still breathing when my mom was young
Marco_Simone SG Ok,thanks for sharing but it is hardly a case of making a difficult choice of love or country...
Sheepophile SG erm I thought in the show Ivy Lee is a Japanese who'd came to Singapore, and that the Japanese officer is actually her boyfriend.
Marco_Simone SG If my memory serves me correctly,Ivy Lee has been a local all the while. That Jap guy was stationed in Singapore as a spy before the war(or something like that). They are already in love before the war...
