Reasons why cars don't signal

hmm. for me i dont know why but its a habit already. b4 i turn the steering wheel in whichever direction sure will signal in that direction (99% of the time).

true that sometimes after ur signal light comes on the other car will speed up and not let u pass in front of him. but then again that can be countered by making sure u're in the correct position(already in front of him) and signal and turn in front of him at the same time. so now i dont really get people who speed up and not let me pass.

but then sometimes when weaving right most lane to left most lane (2 cars same speed side by side on lane 1 & 2 road hogging) back to right most lane (slow heavy vehicles on lane 3 and 2) and suddenly to middle lane (like when a taxi decides to go lane 1 in front of u) i still find myself signalling for every lane change.

summary: i think its a habit thing.

Somehow, Shame on us Singaporeans, I am not the most season driver... But somehow, SB,SC,SD,SF,SG drivers are worse of lot... not saying that i am not one of them...

Signal, i do signal... but sometime the frustration comes when you signal for 5 mins and all the KS(be it kiasu, kiasee, kia zheng wu or simply can't wait to die) Singaporeans will just continue going forward and refuse to let you out... Look at Causeway jam lar, comparing ratio, Malaysian drivers queue, but singaporean drivers cut left n right... You signal, malaysian driver will let you go, but if it's a singaporean will just move forward and MAKE sure you can't go...

Malaysian drivers see a fast approaching vehicle, or see someone high beam, they siam for you... Singaporean drivers(most of them) see someone high beam or approaching fast, they got 2 reaction... either slow down or jam brake...

There are good singaporean drivers out there... but majority of them needs to major improvement...

I believe for most people, If you can't beat them, join them...

i always signal whenever i'm changing lanes or making a turn etc..

i signal soooo often that my dad scolds me.. haha. he say if he's driving the car behind me, he will feel damn irritated! Mr. Green

Threadstarter obviously doesn’t have a clue about the realities of driving, much less about skills. A boxed mindset like that wouldn’t survive a day driving in bigger cities than Singapore that’s for sure.

Why ppl don't signal?

Because if you signal for a lane change ppl quickly speed up to cover your space.

I seriously dunno why ppl here drive like as if driving is a big rally competition to go some where.

Even when lights are amber turning red, ppl can still cut in front of me just to be the first at the stop line. haah

as a learner driver with comfort driving ctr, test routes 6 and 7 involves driving down jln eunos towards still rd and performing a u-turn somewhere before the jln eunos/eunos crescent.

then learner drivers keep left mah. can only keep right after the PIE flyover. i signal also no use one. luckily got one time the Bendy bus driver behind me give me chance and didnt horn.

i scared i get test routes 6 and 7 on my tp test, 17 march.

I think those who dont signal on the road are those who have no common sense.

1) Those to check before signaling
2) Those to signal without checking

Honestly I would prefer them anytime to those idiot who dont signal and expect other drivers to read their mind.

1. signal, cut into ur lane, causing u to brake (a little/lot).
2. signal, but looks straight and not changing lanes at all.
3. nvr signal, change lane. aiyah, he/she nvr let me enter. okay, signal now.

if like on the expressways.. no cars/motorcycles behind u abt 200m, u signal or not?

includin no vehicles 200m in front of me too. i find it serves no purpose. signal to shw who? dun tink any vehicles r affect 200m away n even if i do affect dem 200m away, they can tink of other plans. dis situation usually happens in the late nite where the roads r really empty...

I would disagree with you. I think you should alway make it a habit to signal regardless if there is any car in sight. What if there is a motorbike riding in your blind spot?

Honestly, I think it is easier to just signal than to check if there is any car in the 200m radius before you signal.

for dat i awaes check my blind spots when changin lanes, when turnin, n as well as lookin at my rear mirror every nw n den. for dat its regardless whether if the road is pack or empty...

i bliff its awaes gd to 'check clear' as wats taught in the army

sometimes, the probability of changing lane AFTER u signal is lesser than u dun signal...

for me, if there's no car behind, i will juz change lane... if there's a car nearby, i will juz signal for courtesy sake.
