There are many reasons why one might have bad breath. The first
step to take is to figure out exactly what is making your breath
foul.
If it is due to decayed teeth, it is very easy to deal with.
Regular trips to the dentist and good personal hygine can eliminate
bad breath in this category. Problem is that breath problems
usually do not stem from your teeth. I have heard stories where
people replace all their teeth just to find out that their breath
problem still persists.
You may have this condition called post-nasal drip due to
sinusitis. In this case, the mucus from your nose flows to the back
of your throat and gets built up there. When the mucus decomposes
from the back of your throat, it will give off a rather foul smell.
So if you have sinus problems, treat them now. Pending full
treatment of sinusitis, try rinsing your nasal cavities regularly
with home made saline solutions. This will help curb post-nasal
drip.
In any case, brush the back of your tongue regularly as this is
usually the site where foul smell originates.
