Both my parents are short, but they reproduce a mixed of tall
and short children. But both my grandfathers are tall and my
paternal grandmother is tall too. Which means both my parents have
recessive tall genes, which is passed to me. I appear short but
should have recessive tall genes, which I passed to my sons.
My husband's parents are both short, but he inherits a dominant
tall gene. He may have a recessive short gene.
So the probabilty of our offsprings are T/S, T/T, S/T, S/S.
Outwardly, 50% chance of tall looking children.
If my husband has recessive tall gene, the equation changes:
The probability of our offsprings will be T/T, T/T, T/S, S/T.
Outwardly 75% chance of tall looking children.
Genetics are not so straight forward... leh
