Nissan Cefiro - A good buy?

Hi all!

My dad's thinking of changing to the Nissan Cefiro as it is selling rather cheaply now, at 80+k for the pre-facelift model. Anyone got any comments on the car? In particular, how does it compare to the Camry?

And does anyone know if the cefiro model selling now still comes with the ugly slot-in type of stereo set or is it built in to the central console? Thanks! Razz

Forget it , Cefiro is too famous for its thirst for gas !!! Will burn a bloody big hole interm of fuel money.

Camry is good, very fuel economical very good car to buy.

I like it better than the current camry, which is due for replacement soon.

Cefiro is very comfy and equipment level is very good. The leather is much better than those in camry. FC about 9km/l for a 2.3L is so-so, but I think camry 2.4L should only be slightly better under the same driving condition.

If you want to consider Camry, wait for the new model.

We're deciding between the two, and ya, though the camry is slated to be replaced soon, the current 2.0 model is still 2k more expensive than the 2.3 cefiro. We're also concerned with the quality of the thai-built camry. Anyone has any comments to that?

Downside of the 2.3 cefiro is that the road tax is alot higher, 2k+/yr. Neutral

Don't know about Camry, but my friend changed from a Corolla to the Altis last June and commented that he stll prefers the Jap made Corolla.

Road tax is about 400+ more but the smooth V6 is worth every penny Very Happy

The Cefiro will also come with keyless entry coupled with memory seat. The makes it so convenient when there are two drivers.

The reverse camera makes parallel parking a breeze. Parallel lots are now an option !!

The slot-in ICE is not as cool the built-in on the 350JM, but the built-in unit in the current Camry is not good looking either !

So if its between the current camry n cefiro, I'll definitely choose CEFIRO Very Happy

I’d rather choose Odyssey over Cefiro. Price abt the same and consumes also about the same amout of petrol. But of course, the Cefiro looks much sleeker. When it first came out, I always mistook it for a Lexus.

my vote goes the the camry. behind can seat 4 people. and all 4 are about the size of sec 4 mid size kids.

the VVTi is one technology that is reputatable. and you cant go wrong with toyota.

We test drove the cefiro 230jm and yup, it was very smooth... We thought it sounded abit like a sports car too when revved. Smile But thought the interior was not as noise-insulated as i had hoped.

Anyway, we booked the car, and are now plagued by COE woes, as described in my other thread:

Agree on the sound insulation. But its still pretty good compared with lots of other car ...... and its so much cheaper than Lexus Wink
