There was once my wallet was missing. Few days after the POSB called me tell me to collect back my belonging. Althought the wallet, money, cashcard, ez-link all gone but i still have my IC and other worthless card.

So just pray hard that at least you get your IC back. IF i were to pick up the wallet i may do the same.

Last month i found a wallet under my block and realise the owner of the wallet stay above me. I went up & return to her. She just take the wallet back from me with a thank you and close the door liao. si bei xia lan. i should not return her. Evil or Very Mad

And all the time, I get it back with my IC that is the most important...

Just use the police report as yr IC for the time being. U need to wait for probably 3-4 weeks. If after 5 weeks, no news... then u can go n make IC liao...
