saw the promoters outside Si Ma Lu Kuan Yin temple, can only see
$5 printed prominently. last time, i remember buying a $5 ticket.
pay $10, no change, i told them i only want one ticket then the
promoter point to the very small print $10!
met a friend and told her about it. she mentioned she was
approached by this society and they told her she could donate "any
amount". then turned out the minimum sum is $10.
In our conversation, i was also told that the promoters also cover
the part of the ticket with the '$10' print!
most people only have a limited amount in their pockets, by
resorting to that tactic, the charity may have deprived other needy
people outside the temple of their donations.
