Singaporean has this bad habit of downplaying ones own
capability/salary/etc.
I think it all start in school when parents and teacher ask us to
always to be humble about our grades. Last time during school days
all my friends always complain that the exam is difficult and will
fail for sure. When the results come out, all passed with super
good grades.
Also in working life, we always reply that our salary is only
so-so, can survive lah.
In the army, not many guys will reveal their capabilities, because
if you do, you will kena arrow to do things all the time.
So...NEVER believe what Singaporeans says most of the time.
