McDonalds Pay

enadiz SG

hi, wondering how high the mcdonalds pay is?

in america, the minimum wage for any job is 5.75 an hr (soon to be, i believe), which frankly makes be baulk at the pay that singaporeans get. 5.75 usd is like 7 dollars in singapore and thats for the basic job, i believe the last time i checked mcdonalds paid 3-4 dollars an hr here.

and its not like the standards of living are that different from here and america... cost of living is not that big of a diff between the two, really.

and ur point is?

that more should be done to ensure basic pay standards in singapore. the fact is that the government probably lets this mini exploitation continue so as to “ensure competitiveness” and the like. why drive the wedge between the rich and the poor further?

to ensure competiveness ?
when everyone is jobless see they want work annot...

Simple, we don’t have a union to fight for the kids and elderly working in Macs. It is exploitation masked by McDonald’s strong branding strategy.
