Båseline SG me not familiar in the ext HD thingy. But I suppose they should come with extensive hardware warranty. It is not necessary to say that the drive is reliable but in any case it is spoilt or corrupted... u can get it replaced FOC. Seagate's storage comes with a 5 year warranty.
