Flight Cadet Officer SG

suppose all these are not made available for sales in privacy are they ?

zoik SG

are you looking for something then?

the only thing i can say is that last time i spoke to someone else about importing them in singapore is that it was downright difficult..

i have already sold one of the M16's so i am open to offers on 1 or 2 items perhaps..

on a legality note - it might be ok for an airsoft handgun tho - a gas blowback / non-blowback / springer.
i say this in reference to the airsoft iipsc club that runs [have they moved?] in bishan and is entirely official and legal.

ipsc with long arms / full-scale assault rifles [despite being incredibly underpowered] and shotguns might be difficult lol!

Flight Cadet Officer SG

e-mail me on your offers

Shotgun SG

You happen to have a USP P8? btw, I’m looking for moderators for this forum cos im gonna be in the army for a quite a while. Whoever interested can just message me.

zoik SG

nah, i dont visit this site enough to warrant being a mod for this forum.. Smile

so, you're off to shoot the real things eh? hehe keep your elbows down and your eyes open when you sequeeze em off Very Happy

as for a usp, no, i originally thought theyd be too big for my hands.. [or most chinese hands lol] - the list at the start of the thread is pretty much what i got over a 13 year collection, less one M16vn cos i sold it a short while ago..

the only others i plan on getting are the L1A1 SLR and the Lee Enfield No.4, both classic examples and both quite expensive..

Shotgun SG

No kidding, a lot of the new AEGs cost much more now. US$600 easily.

zoik SG

i wouldnt say that tho, the two i quoted were custom jobs - special creations or modifications - their prices are between US$600-1000.

you can get a M41A Pulse rifle [Aliens], from a limited production run of 50, for US$750.. [battery is housed in non-functional grenade launcher]

The latest large-production run AEG [the G36C from Tokyo Marui] can be had for under US$220 - a price which matches the price of older AEG's now [that wouldve been around US$300-400 when first released].
So, from my pov, it looks like the price range of AEG's has dropped overall.

same goes for pistols [i bought my WA 1911 variant for new about US$275, you can get the latest variants [Para Ord.] for US$150-200]

and i have to say, that even the cutoms jobs, previously prohibitively expensive, are now more reachable - the M14 i'm having made in HK was only US$800.
[before this run was announced i was previously quoted US$1300 for a single conversion from a Hudson model]

[i realise the US$-S$ isnt that good, so i imagine that Airsoft was 2-3 times more expensive for you guys right from the start..!]

Shotgun SG

Maybe I should start bringing in some Airsoft n sell at blackmarket rates. Might be a good business.. haha

zoik SG

lol, i'll be your biz partner! Very Happy

Flight Cadet Officer SG

wah... shotgun going army ..

try not to loose the rifle's spare parts yeah. someone in another platoon lost it so i guess its either a cover up or 7 yrs in DB.

Anyway M16s is damn old older than you and I. so after 1 mag or 2 it'll start to IA due to carbon build up.

Be Extra Caution during field camps. Instructors will try to steal your weapons.
Twisted Evil
This Sgt I know went around stealing parts by parts. He consolidate all the parts and assemble a rifle. In the morning they had a check clear session, 1 by 1, realise some without bolt carriers... no bolt pins... charging handle gone ... barrel gone.. firing pin gone ...
Rolling Eyes
terrible. all confined during the weekend. so hug your rifle, tie it, secure it, hide it. just don't lose anything.

Shotgun SG

I have plans on where to stash my rifle. They'll never get it... over my dead body.

Yeah, anyway, going in this thursday, so I REALLY need Mods for this forum. Or else I'll just have to leave it here like I've always done.

Anyway, about the carbon build up n stuff, I decided to keep the number of shots i take minimal. Don't have so many casings to pick up n less dirt to clean. Hahaha.

zoik SG

this is NS, right?

does not sound fun.

should just be a volunteer army imho...

good luck! sounds like you guys need it lol!

[at least you dont use L85's that fall apart, jam, mags fall out, LEW snaps in half, cocking handle breaks off etc etc!]

Shotgun SG

So I guess I've been right holding the Aug with more respect than the L85. What about the SA-80? Is it as "problematic" as the L85?

We've switched to the SAR-21 now, in most aspects, its quite a versatile and useful combat rifle. Low recoil, user-friendly. Only dislike is the reloading, and that its a right handed only gun. It looks kinda like a cross-breed between an Aug and a SG-552, IMO. Whether it is, technically, or not, I'll only find out if I am thrown into a combat vocation.

To my knowledge, in descending order of most advanced combat rifle/systems (rifles that can mate accessories to), is as follows.

OICW
FN2000
G-36
SAR-21
SG-552 (these things can take real punishment. Seen one dropped into a barrel of mud, taken out, and still shoots without a hitch)
M4-Series.
Trusty ol M-16A1/A2/S1

zoik SG

SA-80 = L85 - one and the same.
L85 is the inservice designation of the SA-80 [named so because of its supposed inservice date].

current issue is the L85A2, modified by H&K to fix some of the biggest flaws.

it too suffers from being a right-handed bias weapon, i think maybe the FA-MAS and the AUG may be the only bullpups that cater for left and right handed users.

inservice reliability of the L85A1 was a pathetic 17%.
the current reliability of the L85A2 is 85+%.
but UK special forces still prefer weapons like the C7 [Canadian version of M16A2 - uses cleaner round that is used by the British as opposed to the US version which is far dirtier].
The L85A1 was so bad it was thrown out of the NATO weapon recommendation list.

i think the issue rate at the moment is about 60-75% of british armed forces have received modified A1-A2 rebuilds.

the trouble with the OICW and FN2000 is when things go wrong, damage in the field etc, getting into enemy hands, etc... you may end up with a technical liability.
[tho i hear the GL has a 'dumb' mode for when the electronics fail..]
still, nice progress in infantry weapons..
i've seen some of the new stuff the Germans are putting together into a new modular weapons kit for their soldiers, with a lot of gear put on their G36's - looks very impressive.

i'd say the AK's are probably still the most durable of weapons out there - they can take a real kicking and still perform reliably...

As fo rthe AUG's, the Australian version is apparently suffering quite badly - allegedly a completely inferior build of the Austrian original.

Flight Cadet Officer SG

I've fired the real F88 Steyr.

Check clear procedures is terrible. requires you to remove the entire barrel, which is difficult while proning. However the recoil is excellent.

Funny thing is as the weapon fires, and if you stand say 50-100m away. It appears quite loud considering you've worn ear plugs. But when firing the actual weapon, all you hear is a "kling kling" sound.

in addition to M16, the sound is so loud you can feel the shock wave and vibration on the ground. Rolling Eyes

My friend from Recon, enlightened me on the Carbine and apparently the recoil was much worst than M16. Mr. Green

Flight Cadet Officer SG

hey shotgun, remember not to bring too many stuff there. just bring the necessary items. the specialist there will make you run up and down for fun depending on how sadist they are.

first few days relax relax. after around 3 weeks into BMT, the horns starts coming out of the skull of the Sgts there. Twisted Evil

anyway endure 3 months yeah. hope you don't get into sch 2. pretty siong
