This afternoon (May 30), an official statement regarding MediaCorp
artiste Christopher Lee's incident was issued by Deputy CEO
(Television) of MediaCorp, Mr Chang Long Jong.
The official media statement is as follows:
MEDIA STATEMENT
We note Christopher Lee's decision not to proceed with the appeal
and the court's decision on his case.
We believe that no one is above the law and each should be
responsible for his own actions. This applies in the case of
Christopher who has to face the consequences of breaking the
law.
We also believe in giving people a second chance. In Christopher's
case, we believe that he is truly repentant. On account of his
remorse and his good track record, MediaCorp will not take any
further action against Christopher apart from suspending his
contract for the time being.
We hope that Christopher will come out stronger from this
experience and we look forward to welcoming him back at work.
