wah very good thread started by free4ever. Actually I'm a very
frequent car rental guy (dun wanna spend so much on car by owning
one, but has a passion in driving around). Here are my
recommendation:
Date of rental: Just last weekend

Rate of rental: $60 / $80 (everyday, wkday and wkend same rate. min
2 days)
Car driven: Hyundai Getz Auto 1.3 / Toyota Vios Auto 1.5
Collection area: edgedale plains blk 131 muti-storey carpark

Experience: Very detailed owner who takes very good care of both
cars. Both cars are very new (Getz less than a yr, Vios less than 3
months). NO DEPOSIT required. I've tried only the Getz. It has
bodykit and remus exhaust. Overall, very good and smooth. I've seem
the Vios, condition is superb.
Date of rental: one month ago

Rate of rental: $75 (wkday) $80 (wkend)

Experience: I'm actually quite a regular with this owner. She owns
more than one car. Mit Lancer, Trajet, Corolla, Sonata are also
under her. She works from home. So far, I've been renting only the
Sunny from her. Only until recently I realised something ugly about
the way she handles rental. As I always rent short term like 1-2
days, initially she will reserved the car for me when i book a
slot. And ALWAYS until the last min, one day or on the day itself,
she will call and tell me the car is out. She claimed she "forgot"
or sometimes she claimed "overlook" the booking. Then, finally one
day, I found out its because she rent the car out to drivers who
rent longer term from her!! Come'on man, she gave her word to me!!
I understand that those car rental guys wanna earn more by renting
out for a longer period, but its a matter of trust and business.
You cant be going around giving people your word and then back out
last min?!?!? Anyway, i'm just sharing out this bad experience to
you people. Overall the car is good.

Experience: Good budget 7-seater car. I drove this to malaysia and
has no problem at all. It even has an extra large box on the top of
the car. Just beware of the height limit when you drive into a
multi-storey carpark. Owner is very "anything" one. Just return the
car in one piece and top up the tank accordingly can liao.
There are many more which i have tried but most sold their car away
already. I hope my experience help you people in one way or
another.
