LoSt WiTnEsS SG hi there pple of this forum, i am a newbie here, so i would like to say a big hello to you bunch of friendly guys. i guess there should be lots of pple here who like trance. but are there any fans of true quality trance from ATB, GiGi, Ferry Costen(system F) or ayla?? hope to establish a fan base in singapore to support quality trance where we can discuss new release and share reviews etc.. NOTE: THIS THREAD IS STRICTLY OFF LIMITS TO TECHNO(FOR KIDS)/RAVE(FOR GANJA ADDICTS)/RETRO(FOR PPLE STILL STUCK IN 1999)FANS
Storm SG Hey there! There are quite a few threads around this forum on trance music. Me, I'm a trance addict too... and yes, I know the difference between techno and trance. I like Ferry Corsten also... Cyclops is the other guy here who's into trance. here's one thread: http://www.sggirls.com/?action=thread_display&thread_id=25762 check out www.di.fm
GIJOE SG U got another kaki here who's into trance too... Paul Okenfold rules ... been to his performance in Zouk? Never been better.. I like John Digweed too and Seb Fontaine.
Storm SG frankly i didn't really enjoy myself at oakie's gig lor. the music was not too bad, but i expected more from oakie. his music direction change liao. listen to his bunkka cd. sound like a rock cd like that. ferry corsten rules. period. dot.
Si|verGer SG yaya trance is nice but quite tiring if u dance trance the whole nite... hmmm ferry corsten is gd but dj mangoo, ayla, kai tracid, paul oakenfold, york, zhi-vago & zymotix are my fave. dj tiesto oso not bad ler. is robert miles oso trancer? he music is quite trance but not those reli hardcore trance 1 ler.... but i like him too
Storm SG lobert miles ah? old, classic trance... remember Children? Or Fable? heehee. Its ok lah, I would classify it as ambient trance. Comments anyone? Silver, I agree with your choice of DJs. Tho I never heard of Mangoo and Zhivago/Zymotix... But I don't get tired lancing the whole nite to trance music leh! Dunno why, the music itself provides me energy to go on and on and on... I remember got one time in France when i go chiong, I dance from 11pm to 5am, then after that still drive 1hr back to my place. wakakakaa!!! die lah. think i zou3 huo3 ru4 mo2 already....
LoSt WiTnEsS SG thats the beauty of trance, when you experience true trance, you feel the music in you as it engulf your mind and soul and you dance to it. you will never get tired when dancing to trance as long as you feel the music in you. you dance coz the music makes you dance, not becoz you are in a club and everybody's dancing and you wanna be part of the crowd. its really unfortunate that singapore lacks good clubs which hav house dj who spins trance as house anthem. i feel this is because singapore still lacks pple who support trance thats why the clubs have to bend towards more comercial hits to draw the crowds.
GIJOE SG Agree with all of u... when e music get into u... u dun care about e people there or even ur frens.. u juz groove to e music.. just can't stop moving..
aitroman SG trance lover r few, $$-maker don't really dare to invest in such club. afraid it might not survive. sad thing to say that most of the clubs here play the same music everywhere.
LoSt WiTnEsS SG thats why i feel that the best place to enjoy trance is at home and not in local clubs. although there would be a lack of ambiance, if you are willing to spurge on high-end sound equipment, you would not be at the mercy of dj who spins crappy stuff. another problem is getting mp3s online. i use to d/l from audiogalaxy, they have the most entensive list of trance music found online, but due to copyrights laws, they dun offer free downloads anymore . wat i use now is winmx and kazzaa which uses p2p system. but searching for the right tracks are a pain. even when the right track is found, it takes ages to d/l when the user is offline or pple just dun share. sometmes after downloading the tracks, they turn out to be either corrupted, or the quality sucks bigtime. anybody can recomend a good place for music d/ls? it seems that storm knows his music. i respect that. we need more pple like him in singapore. switch to trance pple!!
Storm SG Try www.di.fm. If you have broadband, that is... hor, Cyclops hor? Another peer-to-peer program that i use to feed my mp3 needs is kazaa. do a search for it using yahoo. quite idiot-proof, but you have to deal with a lot of pop ups and the threat of viruses and unauthorised access. But if you are computer-savvy/net-savvy enough and know what you are doing, its no prob. ... no lah... I'm not alone. There are actually quite a few trance "connoisseurs" here. Cyclops being one confirmed one. But my taste in trance music very selective one. Too hard, I don't like. Too progressive, I don't like. I like my trance commercial and melodious. haha. But please, enough of Darude's Sandstorm. Overplayed piece of s***... *mumble* Oh two words: Liquid Room. However, if you are not ang moh/rich/a girl or a combination of the above three, you're gonna have a hard time getting in. Try Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Storm SG That's been my calling ever since I discovered trance music... But I gave it up after some time because I realise that it's futile. Singaporeans are generally not ready to switch to this kind of music, because they may be mindset that "trance" music is 1) techno-diu-diu-diu kind of music (alot of my friends think so) or 2) scary (because of the name, trance, like gong-tao like that.) Right now, I only preach to those who want to listen. Ai lai, mai sua. To each his own. You like RnB (it's gettin' hot in here, so take off all your clothes... uh uh uh uh....)? Go ahead. You like retro (call me! call me! baby call me NOW!!!)?? Go have a ball. Leave me to enjoy my trance music at home, in my car and with my fellow addicts.
aitroman SG u see the problem here is that the society oso don't appeciate trance. me n some friends thought we could only enjoy it at home...but we always have some boyz in blue came knocking at our door...saying the is too loud and horrible...
