As Israel gets more isolated from his Allies, they seek
Technology to continue their fight.
Israel launched a spy satellite into orbit Tuesday night from an
air force base near the center of the country. The new satellite,
known as Ofek-9, will help Israel more efficiently monitor the
region, including Iran, said Chaim Eshed, the director of Israel’s
military space program.
The Ofek 9 will join three other Israeli spy satellites already
in space.
Israeli media reports said the satellite's high resolution
cameras would enable Israel to keep a closer eye on arch-foe
Iran.
Along with the West, Israel believes that Iran's uranium
enrichment activities are aimed at producing nuclear weapons, an
allegation Tehran denies.
