-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Aster 15/30 was meant from the start to be an all round ship
defence against missiles/aircraft etc. etc. etc. What it was not
designed for was ballistic missiles.
Now a quick google would have gotten you all that information.
Now go exercise your brain a little.
If there is one criticism against the Formidable, it is that the
damn thing doesn't have RAM systems.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rather than take line , hook and sinker as some Googlers do
without exercising their puny brains, it is evident that
the Aster 15 is primarily an anti aircraft weapon with a
secondary anti missile capability.
You have also just admitted to the fact that the Aster 15
is indeed not in the same category as RAM for
which its primary role is an anti missile missile
system.
What the fuck? A Rolling Airframe Missile is a Point Defence Weapon
like the Phalanx/Goalkeeper. The RAM is supposed to replace the
Phalanx/Goalkeeper in fact. It is supposed to be a "Last Ditch"
weapon if all else fails. It is not a replacement for the Aster,
it's meant to complement the weapon.
Now, if you have even so much as have done your homework, despite
your adamant insistence that google cannot be trusted, and actually
go read the MBDA website for the missile, you will note that:
"The first successful firing of the SAAM system
was conducted in 1999 from the French Ile d’Oléron experimental
ship when a direct hit was registered on a manoeuvring sea-skimming
target. "
Now fucking admit you are stupid, and move on.
