sixniner SG Happy New year guys! I was wondering if I could get some opinions on whether The Audi A4 1.8T is a good buy? Read in the saturday news that it was a good alternative to the bmw... Thanks!
breytonhartge SG depends on what you are looking for and what kind of driving experience... personally, having owned audis, bms and mercs b4, I would personally prefer the bmw.
siaokao SG I personally prefer the BMW as well. If you are looking at the A4, I suppose you will be comparing against the 320. While the A4 does give you better power and perhaps slightly better ride (due to BMW using run flat tyres), I feel 320 provide you with better overall refinement. I also do not like the A4's CVT transmission (donno wat they call it, but they are noisy) and its interior looks dated. I've just test driven them both. But my preference may be different from you. Should go try them out. Cheers!
sixniner SG Thanks for the tip. Should be going down later to give it a shot…Car looks really cool with the streamline silhouette and bold aggressive grills…hope the 1 .8T performs the way it looks. cheers!
KangZ SG The Audi is one beautiful car!! Far more beautiful than the 3 imho. But too bad the interior is as interesting as local politics... Makes me wonder if the designer uses all his inspiration for the exterior, leaves nothing for the interior... An engineer then comes along and says 'ok since interior so blend, if quality kns won't be able to sell.' that's just my 2 cents on why Audi has interiors built like a vault...
sixniner SG Test-drove it yesterday (btw, showroom surprisingly quite crowded ..) and it was 'inspirational' . Couldn't help smiling the whole time I was pushing the car (infact, the car really couldn't be pushed..it was taking whatever I threw at it with an almost "lazy" ease like as if it was mockering me to try harder ). I agree...it is truely built like it would be the most unlikely car of choice for terrorist (car will implode instead of explode). I find the interior nicer and classier if it were light grey in colour..it blends extremely well with the aluminium trimmings. Might be fine-tuning the deal today if everything is ok (and there's no violent objection from my "veto-power" other half). Cheers everyone!

[/b]the 1.8T engine is a proven piece of art. ask the agent to upgrade your ECU to MTM stage 1 or 2, and your car will be flying. You can easily take on a 325 dude..and you only need to pay for 1.8L road tax... btw, please go to www.vagsg.com if you need more info about that car.
AF2005 SG its sad that, the second hand value of a car dictate the brand and model of the car singaporean buys. Mercedes good resale value, BMW not so good and so on. Mercs good for one class of people, BMW another class, Audi a niche class, saab also another class. No doubt Audi is a good car.
