sunny6110 SG One fine day, U saw a nice looking shoes which cost $97. U had no $$ and u decided to borrow $50 frm A and $50 frm B. After buying the shoes, U are left wif $3. U return $1 to A and $1 to B. U r left wif $1. Now... U owe A $49 and B $49..... So total $49 + $49 = $98. U hv $1 left wif u.... $98 + $1 = $99.... Where is the Missing $1?
banzie SG Anyway the $1 is with you lah... coz all together you buy $97 and you took $1 home. Totaly $98 + $2 you return to tehm
ChoCoChips SG the 98 is the debt leh. how can plus the 1 buck? should be 98+2 ma, the two dollar is the $$ u return. isnt it? last time oso got one question like that. sell pizza one. but i always forget the exact solution.
Yunhaier SG You are supposed to minus not plus. 98 - 1 = 97 97 is the shoe cost. No cash is missing. Cheers
sunny6110 SG This is not a maths question.... U all remember this is a Gift frm sunny6110.... Master the concept behind it and apply it in real life.... U wun ever stave~!!
Lorry` SG can i say that theres nothin missin, because 97 is an odd number. lets say if the shoe costs 96 (even number), u borrowed 50 from each of them, return 1$ to A and 1$ to B, ur left with 2$. then 48+48+ your 2$ = 100$ ? so late.. go sleep liao
sunny6110 SG Again har.... U r left wif $2.... U decide to return A a further $1 and B a further $1.... U now owe A $48 and B $48..... and U hv no $$ left.... $48 + $48 = $96.... Now... where is the Missing $4??
mochou SG u start with $0. You borrow $100 cash. You buy something worth $97and have $3 dollar cash left. So now it's $100(Your debt) = $97+$3(Shoes+cash left) You return $1 to them each, so you owe them $49 each, holding $1 and a pair of shoes. So now it's $98(Your debt) = $97+$1(Shoes+cash left) I dont see any missing $1 here. Hope that's clear enough.
sunny6110 SG tat's v direct mah.... let's say u hv got $2 left... u wanna keep $1. U decide to return them $0.50 each.... now u owe them each $48.5. $48.5 + $48.5 + 1 = 98 where is the missing $2?
4getmenot SG erm..so when i want to buy something...borrow from two friends..then return them the balance har..?
the.owl SG WTF are you talking about? I spent 97 and left 3 dollars, pay back $2, now still owe $98. I got 1 dollar left, so I need to get $97 from own pocket. where got missing?
