New SAF Digital Camo No.4

LazerLordz SG

Now, that's tactical. But the boots.. use ACU cloth to make bootwraps and you're good to go. :D

nehpyh SG

Imagine you wear the ACU for snow patrol and then sleep on the bed and your Sar-ang can't find you!!!!! :)

Zooish SG

Found this in wiki..even the helmet camo looks like our style.

So, for those who've seen it, is it closer to the US MARPAT pic I posted earlier or the CADPAT Woodland above?

Its somewhere in between the 2. Imagine the olive of the MARPAT mixed with the green of CADPAT.

Pitot SG

what about the Columbian digital camo? will it be similar or slightly darker?

saberlancer SG

Very cool if they do come up with our own version.

Marpat has a bit too much brown for our terrain, while Cadpat's green is rather too 'bright' for us. A mix of both would be great.

edwin3060 SG

Thats the thing-- mix them up and you get...... our old No. 4 colours, just in a digital pattern :P Not worth the time or money, IMO.

Oh i’ve seen the new uniform. The ranks for officers is worn on the chest in between the two breast pockets. Looks weird.
But okay lah…screw it lol ORD lo

Black Aces SG

...The ranks for officers is worn on the chest in between the two breast pockets....

That's basically meant we are basing our design on the US style.

In fact, the modern US uniform has replaced all the buttons with velcro....now, would love to see the SAF follow suit!

edwin3060 SG

Not really-- there have been many complaints about the zipper and velcro on the US uniform-- basically the zipper gets jammed if theres any mud or dirt, and the velcro wears out or is made ineffective by the dirt. Flat buttons still seem to be the way to go.

LRRP SG

Buttons are still best. One sergeant mentioned that velcro may compromise your position when u are laying an ambush in a dead quiet night.

eurofighter SG

And yes, we’re going velcro.

saberlancer SG

Those who has seen it, how abt the material? same, ripstop...any change?

nehpyh SG

And yes, we’re going velcro.

Velcro is non tac la..

Button is still the best...can repair in the field.

First thing first, do away with the world war 2 guiter please!!!!!

Black Aces SG

Now, SAF day is on the 1st July, will they brought out this new design in public on that day?

Or, will the SAF military contingent for NDP be doning this new design?

Don© SG

There's an official email going around, for those who have seen it you should know what i'm talking about. Anyway the basic uniform will be brown based I'm not sure why, and grey uniforms will be introduced later. Thats all i'm saying haha.

And yes it would be similar to US uniforms.

redmonsoon SG

ooo..so I gather its more marpat, mandarin collar?niicee.

newcomer SG

damn sweet. i got a marpat but couldn't get a hold of a set of cadpat. anyone got pics of the sg version one?

LazerLordz SG

And yes it would be similar to US uniforms.

I think blindly copying the ACU is not the way to go.

sgf SG

Brown? Well I guess when they call you a piece of sh*t, you'll really look like one now. LOL! Doesn't seem logical giving out brown and then grey later. Just give the grey. No need for a stop gap measure uniform.
