Bontakun SG Do you know our solar system is also rotating? We may be able to see some black holes here and there, but we should fear those black holes we CANNOT see all the more. Invisible black holes as scientists claimed it. Do you know there is a slim chance that the sun may die faster than its supposed to? As in supernova and then it may expand and engulf earth along with many other planets? Or perhaps even becoming a black hole itself. Woah woah! Hold your horses before your thoughts go any further. Let us focus back on our tiny planet we call home. How much are we contributing to global warming? What drastic changes will there be in the weather in the next 10 or more years? What other natural resources will be depleted (besides oil) in the next 50 or so years? What about our ever expanding population growth? How can we cope with world hunger issues? We can do our part in making it a better place for future generations BUT not all will think beyond our planetary climate and what we are causing. There are those who prefer to see what is in front of us, like study, work, dates, $$$, luxury and other human-related stuffs. Some are ignorant of such cases. Some are too scared to think of such magnitude. So for those who think of the universe and such, well... Let us keep thinking and imagining further, shall we?
mystee SG hmm... black holes are measured by mass... there is no limit to how much mass a black hole can have. so, as long as any amount of mass can be made to form a black hole if you compress it to a high enough density. as for y stars explode is becos stars is using its own "fuel" to keep burning... & keep those stuffs around it to stay close to the centre of gravity of that particular star. so once the "fuel" is used up, the stars will collapse & die.. & "explode". so i dont think black holes will explode... the above is all those i can rem.. hehe.. not sure if is 100% true or accurate.
january SG fair enuff.. there are many problems in life... universal... earth .... politics... society... religious problems... communites... technology problem.... pollution.... and family down finally down to individual problem like personal health...
jakku SG u studied astronomy in ntu ? i think black hole do move.. i rem e movie showing tat it move.. but in order for us to be suck in e black hole we gotta come super close to it.
mystee SG yeah... but i only went to the lec for 3 times i think.. so i din watch the movie... so u also did that module? hmm.. wondering if we are same batch..
untitledwav SG you've just caught a glance of the enormity of life~ (*o*) but there's no reason for us to be afraid of it. if we understand that we're just a part of a greater universe, understand how small we are, and how small are the problems that we face compared to all of life... we'll open our eyes and learn to cherish the little bits of wonders we see everyday.
january SG precisely... but its not easy.. one do not become not afraid of failure over exams, promotion, family events like giving birth, sickness just because he realize how big the universe is.. i agree its helps to realize things bigger than our personal life cos it humbles the mind and teaches us to get closer to reality but it is a little bit only. to live happily, you need more than that.
Darkness_hacker99 SG There is a black hole spoted near our center of milky way, It's gravitational force is of many times the Sun's. That day which you feared for will happened. It not about will it happen, but when will it happened.
Cro-Magnon SG Only when your life span is miraculously extended to the range of hundreds of millions of years need you start worrying about the fate of Earth, our Solar System, our Milky Way. Scientists estimated our Sun to be around "middle age" so that means it should burn for another 4-5 billion years. If we did not do any drastic thing to our planet or no alien invasion or no rock from space hitting, Earth should be around by then. The thing which I will be worrying is what should I eat for lunch later. For someone with a greater perspective of the future than me, the next Ice Age perhaps (in 50-70 thousand years)?
teraexa SG Worry so much for what? I am even doubtful that our current way of life is going to last more than 200 years. In 10,000 years, will there still humans around? Oh you can pray for warp drive soon.
4getmenot SG there are really ffar more worrying things than about some wayward stones hitting us, or a black hole appearing right beside us.. our earth is dying from Humans' endless plunder of its resources without giving much thought about the consequences. Thousands of Hectres of forest are cleared away to make way for human development.. A time will come when we will awaken a prehistoric Super Mutant Virus that will wipe us out off the face of these earth and monkeys will rule the world again.. Seriously, if an astroid does hit the earth.. at least you know, you won;t be the only one evaporating out into the thin air..
