Supermarket Plasticbags

I applaud IKEA for the bold move of doing away with free plastic bags! I can’t say the same for all other major supermarkets! Doing it half heartedly, only on one day in a week. I think they should all follow IKEA’s fine example.

SMRT Buses SG

Well, some people are happy with the move whereas others aren't...we can't have the best of both worlds Rolling Eyes

i think they should stop giving plastic bags, save the world for damnation…

One day a month? How half-hearted.

If all of the supermarkets and petrol kiosks can agree to do a complete ban together there won't be this 'fear' of losing customers to compeitors.

If all nations agrees to disarm and never to have an army, we will have no wars.

good point Laughing

Then again people may go to other shops just to ask for plastic bags, and the shopkeepers won't be too pleased even if it costs them very little.

We need to improve our awareness of environmental issues, and get people in general to value conservation over convenience.

RangerZ SG

Ya! We must do some thing. Rolling Eyes

We have people e.g. the elder generation who may not understand why we should be environmentally-friendly. I don’t disagree with introducing the reusable bags gradually instead of implementing a complete supermarket-wide cut-off in the supply of plastic bags.
