practising on the formulas... & understanding the formulas..
is diff... at least from my perception...
practising on the formulas/equations dont make u understand the
formulas/equations... but of cos, i agree with u that we have to
practise on it to let it stay in our memories for a longer time..
& also, memorising w/o practise at all, most of the time, it
dont work especially for Poly, A level and Uni standards.
As for understanding of formulas, from what 798 is refering, "i
guess" he is replying ur previous posts that u said understanding
formulas is impt (abt the concept & backgnd etc). Yes, indeed
it is impt, but in order to understand formulas, we need to know
where the formulas are derived from. & from "original"
formulas, by understanding the theories etc... & work the way
thru to derive it into another formula & so on. These ways make
us understand the concept & backgnd of formulas... But it takes
a super long time to do so, especially if we are under time
constaint. I tried it b4... its really time consuming... &
during the exam, I have no time to derive the "original" formula to
the formula I need in order to do the those questions for a 2 to
2.5 hr papers.
To conclude, yes, practising is impt, else is really hard to
remember it to use them, but that doesnt mean we truly understand
the formulas.
