ironpeasant SG hmm just realised. how come my red ear terrapin 15 years old already, still quite small. Width of shell is about 15cm only.
105090 SG oh.. so mines a soft shell turtle? called shan1 rui2 in chinese.. then whats a tortoise? if the one below is called a terrapin/ red eared slider? this one i had for 3 years, very tame and will even eat out of my hands.. a bit dirty though
105090 SG thats very cruel.. my parents told me to stop feeding it (that soft shell turtle) fishes.. so now make do with frozen bloodworms and feed
the Bear SG that's a terrapin or red earred slider.. the other pic is a soft-shelled turtle.. this is a pig-nosed or Fly River Turtle
ahhui90 SG wah seh… my red ear slider terrapin i buy in pri6 when they are babies bah maybe ard 3 to 5cm in diameter only… now more than 10cm in diameter le im in poly now 16years old… feed it with terrapin and fish pallet feeds
elindra SG Btw yr soft shell and terrapin are both semi-aquatic Meaning they like to have some water and land at the same time. Anyway yr soft shell looks fat and healthy
105090 SG i dont know how to look at the shell i just let it swim in some water for 15 mins per day and sometimes in the afternoon.. its a bit difficult to find a place big enough to store water for it
105090 SG housed in a glass tank 24/7, when I change water, i let it crawl round the house.. thats how it ended up next to the door.. they seems shy and resrved when they are out of the water i think its under-fed, looking at the shell where the ribs are exposed.. fed it pellets and bloodworms
