Lens is secondary, most importantly is the person behind the
lens. 
How abt spending the dough on a entry level DSLR or even perhaps
get a second-hand one to hone ur techinal skills first? Once u are
more comfortable in handling DSLR... it's never too late to upgrade
camera body and purchase additional lenses.
