[This is the basic text of Sun Tzu on the Art of War. It was extracted from Mr. Giles' complete work as titled above. The commentary itself, which, of course includes this work embedded within it, has been released as suntzu10.txt (or suntzu10.zip). This is being released only as an adjunct to that work, which contains a wealth of commentary upon this text.]

The Art of War has 13 chapters. You can click on the Chapter Number to go to that chapter directly.

Each chapter is hyper-linked to its corresponding Chinese text. You may switch back and forth between the English and the original Chinese text, by clicking on the link at the end of each chapter.

copyright can be extended. and if sun zi were alive, he could sue you for using his intellectual content without paying royalties. IPR.

and sun zi was a realist. ruthless but pragmatic. bunch of power crazy nuts who are overfocused on power and totally neglect to consider mitigating factors.

SevenEleven SG

i'm a fan of sun tzu. I find them very applicable in businesses

mrwonderful SG

If Sun Tzu was around (which was what GeDanken said),

and we take Singapore's copyright law,

Generally, copyright in a literary, dramatic or musical work, or in an artistic work other than a photograph, subsists during the life of the author plus 70 years after his death.

Gedanken SG

Sadly, eagle, if Sun Tzu had died after 1939, we might still have a challenge. It would not take as much as a smacked-out quarter-competent lawyer with Frontal Lobe Syndrome to convince the court that lionnoisy is a babbling, drooling inbred moron who spends his life with one hand on the keyboard and the other on his genitals, the contents of whose head should be used for CERN experiments and the rest of whose composition needs to be labelled "BIOHAZARD" in 2400-point bright-red flashing font and incinerated at more than the earliest convenience in the service of public safety and good taste.

As such, while it may easily be demonstrated that Noisy Pussy did in fact reproduce the material without permission, the damage is limited by the prima facie probability that anybody who would take his posts seriously enough to read more than the title would probably not have counted as being sentient enough to have appreciated the import of Sun Tzu's message, much less buy the book, watch the movie or get the T-shirt.

I have a hunch...

Lionnoisy has some conditions similar to Gazelle: Autistism

Probably with Parkinson's as well

Gedanken SG

Nah - autistics are still recognisable as human, and Parkinson's would have mercifully put the brakes on the endless cut-and-paste jobs.

Some days, a cigar is just a cigar, and a flaming arsehole is just a flaming arsehole.

sgstars SG

that are some seriouslly eloquent phrases about lionnoisy you got there bro. too bad he wont read much less understand it.

Gedanken SG

That certainly wasn't for Pussy's benefit, stars. Remember, we're laughing at him, not with him.

well, to me... autism is

Step 1: cut & paste
Step 2: be flamed
Step 3: Repeat Steps 1, 2 and 3 indefinitely

As I have helped Gazelle diagnose before

Autism is a brain development disorder characterized by impaired social interaction and communication, and by restricted and repetitive behavior.

Gedanken SG

It's not a bad guess, eagle, but there's the human element. Somehow I'm just not comfortable diagnosing a piece of shit as autistic.

But at least someone who is diagnose as autistic can still feel normal human feelings, that pussy can't even feel a thing.

I still want to put a label close to autistic kid

Let's call it autistic shit

Gedanken SG

That's not really fair to autistic people. I know it's a bit wordy, but what about "mindlessly repetitive piece of shit"?
