In all my years living in Singapore (which is a lot I can assure
you), I have NEVER seen a drunk Singaporean.
Even from midnight to around 5 in the morning around areas heavily
populated by nightclubs and bars the only drunk people I’ve ever
seen are foreigners. You don’t even see homeless drunk people
anywhere. What’s even more puzzling is that from 11-past midnight
on NEW YEARS’ EVE there
was not a SINGLE drunk person on the streets,
the area around the fireworks display were completely drunk
personless. In any other country on New Year’s Eve there would be
almost hundreds of people stumbling down roads, hundreds upon
hundreds of bottles of alcohol lying on the streets and just pretty
much everyone being loud and causing minor, and sometimes major,
havoc. I know I’ve posted many of these type of threads asking why
Singapore is different but it seems to me that every aspect of
Singapore seems to be toned down, even the general size. Once again
any comments, ideas or reasons why there aren’t any drunks in
Singapore please let me know.
