its not impossible to syncronise the speeds now with advanced electrics. The Mercedes A190 Twin utilises this system. Also seen a tiburon with 2 engines as well. n like what CyroGenic said, so did the Audi TT Bimotor. Its difficult, but not impossible to engineer. They probably won't pay off as a commercial project but as a special one off project to showcase design and technical prowess of car manufacturers, they quite fit the bill.

Turbos can be set to low boost, and enhance pickup as well. furthermore, if your car is in the right rpm range, it definately increases pickup. Superchargers can also be tuned to start spinning at a required RPM, so it doesn't necessarily make them better for pickup alone. In essence its probably right to say that the both increase bhp and torque, but a turbo adds more bhp than torque alone, while a supercharger increases bhp by less than a turbo but can increase torque massively more than a turbo normally could.

a pascal is defined as being 1N of force applied over a square meter of area.

1 atm of pressure is about 1.01325 bar

a turbocharged engine has to be extensively reworked and strengthened, to withstand a boost pressure of 2 Bars. If u need to spend that sort of money, u might as well get a proper exotic car. at least they look better!

an internal combustion engine basically is that. an engine that relys on combustion, or aka controlled explosion, burning, to work. What do we need for a fire? simply, energy, fuel and air. too much air, your engine explodes. why? combustion becomes too fast and too powerful to control. crankshafts, engine parts and the blocks have a certain tolerance level. go beyond that and they fail. geddit?

well, to be more specific, its a little more complicated than dat. too much air (leaner mixtures) basically increases cylinder temps thereby leading to melt down beyond the internal threshold of the components. to much boost (with insufficient cooling), u basically pre-detonate the A/F mix before e spark plugs do, bending a few rods and a crank along the way at dat Laughing
