Hi there. Personally, I'm into tattoos. I badly want a
full-sleeved on both my arms but of course, my parents decided
against it.
Their concern is about how people will view me cos we are Asians
afterall and about future emplyoment issues.
So I asked if I can do it on my back, they say that it will affect
my NS ranking cos apparently, if you have tattoos, you cannot get
high positions in defence forces.
For girls, you can do it on your body where people wont get to see
it easily unless you let them.
If you are doing on your back, I suggest you find a proper spot. I
know of girls who regret doing it on their back because on the
wedding, they cant wear certain gowns even though they like it alot
cos the cuttings of the gowns will reveal their ink on their
back.
So I suggest doing it somewhere that you can conceal easily with
normal clothings like T-shirts and all but able to show it if you
put on certain clothings (bikini, tank top).
Or you can be like DJ Rosalyn, do it on your arm where the BCG scar
is. So when you need to hide it, a T-shirt works.
But when you go to places where you want to show it like clubbing,
you can wear a sleeveless.
But that means you cant choose a wedding gown next time that doesnt
cover your arm =)
On the whole, I say your mum wouldnt agree if you tell her. Unless
you do it on places where she wont see it, then let her know it
next time.
