When I just stop my car at traffic junction about 2 seconds, a car not able to brake and bang at the back bumper and boot of my car. I have taken photo of my car back and also the third party car front photo, but not taken the scene photo, to make the report, will I have high chance to win the case on the third party claim, appreciate the advice,

Thanks in advance.

Say You STOP before the traffic light.(Red Light)
Slow down to stop as you see ppl crossing.

As long you say you slow down, stop at traffic light> Ppl bang you, u have a higher chance of winning.

Dun worry. You Safe safe lah, unless you say you anyhow pourposely stop for no reason then you jia lat.

*Following too close, cannot stop in time >You WIN
*Rear end you at traffic light junction.(Say got ppl still walking)> You win.
*Red light you stop, ppl bang you> You win

People don't realise yellow means STOP!

The driver behind take yellow to mean go faster.

Thats why the accident happens.

Whoamiyk SG

actually it is cab, drive seem prefy fast seem want to beat the traffic light, that is why bang my car badly. very sad and angry of that bcoz jus 1 yr plus car

question also, as the bumper, boot and boot panel metal get banged, will it cause the wheelbase or anything misalign, how to test to confirm nothing misalign?

I was wondering, what if the car is rental from a company and the incident is not your fault, is either other motorist or SBS/SMRT buses that hit your back, how will it settle? The car is rental company and not your's, what should we or i do? Any experience drive care to share? Thanks!

Need to pull your car back to the original specifications. Go to the original distributor work shop, or authorised workshop. They would have the specifications and the equipment, to detect even a 5mm deviation and correct it.

Cheapo repairs just restore the bumper and booth, and as long as the car can move, its considered repaired.

Was the taxi driver tailgating you? Did you last minute jam break because suddenly red light?

sinicker SG

change to original bumper.

DEMAND it.

even for myself, i may drive fast and overtake from the left and what-not stunt i do. but i never bang into a car infront.

Whoamiyk SG

the situation is when i saw traffic light in yellow tyrning to red soon, i have stop my car at traffic light, then about 1 or 2 secs from the mirror, i can see the cab from quite far distance at behind that drive prety fast and bang at my car, that is why bang my car badly about 10k repair.

how to check whether the wheelbase or anything is not misalign?

Rock^Star SG

that's why when the light turns yellow and one has decided to brake to a stop, quickly for that split second glance if there's any fast car behind. That's defensive driving. You could have done that.

OF course, the taxi driver also needs a brain as nobody tries to beat the yellow light when there's another car in front. He should have done so when there's none.

Whoamiyk SG

for my case, when the traffic light in yellow, i have a distance from the ttraffic stop light, thus i have to stop.

suspect the cab thought i will beat the yellow light, then drive fast and bang at my car.

in this case, i have high chance to win too right base on your comment?

Whoamiyk SG

actually it is not jus change bumper.

it need to change brake light, boot, sensor, the rear panel metal, boot inner flow panner and many small items. the metal inside the boot which hold the spare base also get banged need to knock or replace too. Paint bumper boot and read side body too.

all around 10k.

sinicker SG

tell insurer you want everything new & original coz' your car is new.

& the taxi driver needs a few demerit points.

TooFree SG

How come you called third party when there are only two parties involved?

Whoamiyk SG

yes, i have already sent to honda to repair and not outsider workshop.

no one injured, thus no report police, will he get demerit, which don' think so right?

yes, only me the cab involve, but i just know that normally we call the second party insurance as third party claim, anyone can advise why call third party.
