You were correct in guessing plane used in the intercept.

So officially, eventhough 145 was designated as a strike role, those blk52s can do scramble jobs as well.

So guys, if u happened to be happily cycling along the Changi Coast road this weekend, do remember there is a team of pilots and jets ready for mission nearby 24/7.

scramble jets are different
before they start their duties, the pilot will be there early in the morning to do a check start to prepare their aircraft for the scramble(if there's any)

and the switches and knobs are already configured to the necessary settings. So once the anouncement comes for them to scramble, they just need to power up the a/c and they are ready to go..

In this video, it shows that the a/c has not been check started yet and all switches and knobs are not configured yet.

Yeap. I was trying to make the point that there are fighters "ready" to intercept at any moment's notice. In some cases, jets sit with their engines running and INS fully aligned, just waiting for a pilot and clearance to taxi.

As for powering up the A/C, you'd still need to wait for the INS to align, unless you want to try running that alignment off the EPU. I'm not sure if thats possible.

hmm.....i gather from the ST news, the path taken by the Cessna passed over part of Peninsula M. Wonder why did'nt the M sent up their Su30 or FA18 to take a peek at the intruder, or were they unaware that a UFO intruded into their airspace?? Confused

Or is it M. Boleh? Anybody can suka suka intrude into their airspace without a proper flight plan. Like that, problem mah! hmmm..... Wink

Singapore FIR covers the entire South China Sea, and some parts of P. Malaysia out of Changi Airport.

Now probably it didn't fly towards Australia or Indonesia as intended, but somehow veered off-course towards Singapore by following the lead of other airlines using the civilian airway G219 for arrival into Singapore. However, it probably didn't file the notices or state where it was headed to unlike the other airlines on the route.
