just an additional point
Within ten years, we shall have the means to kill 80 million
Russians. I truly believe that one does not light-heartedly attack
people who are able to kill 80 million Russians, even if one can
kill 800 million French, that is if there were 800 million
French.
This quotation from Charles de Gaulle denoted his
strategic policy towards WMD. Since it is extremely unlikely for
Singapore to pursue a policy of expansionism in this region (small
population, reliance on neighbors), there should be little fear for
neighboring countries that such weapons should be abused by
Singapore.
I am not sure if Singapore is a signatory of any treaties banning
development of WMD, but perhaps the industry can focus their
attention on making nerve gas? If I am not mistaken, currently
nerve gases are banned accordingly to chemical structure. Thus any
newly developed nerve gas with novel chemical structure may be
produced to circumvent current treaties?
