Suv noob SG there is this petrol smell coming from my air con vents normally this happens either when i’m in heavy traffic or when my right foot is heavy what could be the cause i just changed my air con filter but it did not seem to work
tomsss SG get it serviced? for what i know car air-con do needs servicing every once in a while, they don’t last forever like those household fridge… izzit? i dunno… i too have that problem haha
alberteinstein SG i also got that smell. I guess it is the air-circulation button that we swwitch off, meaning it takes in "fresh" air from outside, so when traffic heavy or motorcycles around, we got that smell. Expert bros out there please correct me if i'm wrong.
ceecookie SG also when im in the car occasionally i could smell the milding choking smell coming out of the aircon. what is it?
kentheman SG should be the air circulation button.. mostly, i set it to internal circulation, unless i travel long distant and at night, where no or little traffic, after smoking, take in fresh air from outside to “replace” the air inside.
Apollo_sg SG get ur mech to check ur fuel line, and also the fuel pump which is supposedly in either the engine compartment or under the rear passenger seat. the vents should b tight shut due to the damper cutting off external air. i can understand u smell petrol (actually it is irritant gases. mostly of deadly toxins like sulphur and acrolein)
bounce34 SG u try and press on the circulate button on ur car dashboard and see.. there will be a difference i think
eati SG petrol smell or burning smell ...? if it is burning smell ...probably switch-on the air-con circulation switch it should help..but it it is petrol smell .. then better send your ride to the workshop.. probably there is leakage in the fuel system such as fuel pipe or fuel tank itself (the gases will seep thru seats) ..gd lucK!
digicharat SG last time my air con vent i put open one. then i drive pass hawker center, i smell char kuey tiao smell in my car...
Cpt.ZR SG ohh.. hmm try driving it with the air con thingy where you can press for outside air and inside air one.. press for outside air,... then you try driving on a empty road full blast your AC.. then it may help… if problem still have.. then better see a mech…
