erm, my kueh lapis failed, failed, failed with a capital F!!!! bwwaaahhhhhh~~~~~~~

i threw out the cake!!! i don't know what i did wrong. the outside looked over-baked. almost cookie texture and the inside looked underbaked. the taste was good though but just not right to be eaten so i threw it out.

all my over 3 hours toiling at it, the eggs, the butter, blah blah blah!

i need to heal before i venture at it again. i wrote in a food forum so hopefully someone can enlighten me where i went wrong. i took picture of the disaster so from it, those experts have an idea.

i just got a feeling my cake mixture messed up in the first place. now my arms are sore from all that whisking!!! maybe i do need to buy an electric mixer. Sad

well, i do a pretty decent nine layer kueh (jiu zhen gao) so i tot i shouldn't do badly in the kueh lapis but alas, that was not to be. but really, i wanna learn to do it. 'cos we can't find it here. Crying or Very sad and that's one of my fav "cake" as i am not much of a cake person.
