According to most religion it is wrong to take own life so the
scenario here is that the soldier is desperate for someone/anyone
to help him out.Would you?

you were lrrp right ? .... what if you were compromised and your
buddy were severely wounded, crippled, etc ? ... would you leave
him to the mercy of the enemy, looking around at our potential ones
? ... in anycase knowing he would died slowly and painfully of his
wounds anyways ? ... 
I think I would actually .... when the time comes for me to justify
what I did before God, I'd tell him that I did what I did to bring
him from his misery to a better place ... and that I cannot leave
him to suffer, and I did it out of brotherhood and my love to him
...
