new model mark x comes with VSC and TRC where previous model doesnt have, this will not cause fish tail problem, and now is more on safety, better fuel consumption also more luxury style car.

Yea... sounds kind of silly to fork out that additional amount for the L-brand.

But once got money, it's another story.

Well I do believe that the Mark X & IS250 share similar features infact if I have been on IS250 couple of times and I can't find any difference between the IS250 & Mark X features, still quality plays a part too I guess. Though I think $30k is abit too much if just for quality difference probably the badge too plays a part.

I really have no idea what is Toyota trying to do, cannibalising its own sales?

different markets i guess. mark x is jdm. lexus is for ang moh market. somemore, there are somethings that the lexus gs300 chassis has that the mark x is lacking. y gs300? cuz both the gs and x share the same chassis. only similarity between the is250 and x is the engine. thats where the similarity ends.

I don't believe that JDM Xs come without steering mounted controls, etc etc. I think that PIs import in the most basic model to keep costs down. But for 100+k, I would think that amenities like steering mounted controls would be spec-ed in, after all, the X is meant to be a mid level luxury car isn't it..

One good example would be this. The allions that we get are probably the lowest of the lowest spec.. The interior should look more like this

@ nightsky87: eh dont like that say, i'm just highlighting some small facts that's all, like having vsc and trc will eliminate fishtail. mark x is a rwd ffs, if pushed hard enough, it will still snap. no electronics can prevent fishtail (at least that's what i believe and understand). not here to put joean down or disrupt any sales. =) but of cuz, like she said, it's good to have such safety features cuz no one knows when it will save our life.

yup PIs bring in the basic models to keep costs down, but i know of mark x owners who actually got their PI to get the buttons installed for them. or they purchase the buttons online and go to their own preferred audio accessories shop to wire it up.

as for the 2010 mark x, im not sure about the steering mounted controls yet. yet to go down to showrooms to see one in the flesh yet. personally as a mark x owner, i still cannot accept the rear of the car. im a sucker for luxury cars and loving the interior, much more luxurious than the one that are on the roads now.

and ah... how come u know i own a mark x? hahahaha.

its alright for me, forum is to share info and to exchange viewers.. not only for sales.. i do not know very well yet for the Mark x as mostly for cars guy will know more of it... and they have always do enough research before they make any decision, so i am still learning... I agreed with Unknown X as he is someone who knows alot abt Mark X as he is driving one...:)

Mark X is one of my favourite car. As i know it is a good spects car. As for knowledge wise i may not be comparable to guys as they will do a deep in research before they go into any decision.. but i am sure if u have any question to know more about, this forum here will have someone to answer the questions that u are looking for as forum is to share and exchange views :)

Why built new ones? , re-engineering and re-programming would be Cheaper.

Look at the re-engineering Toyota Vanguard 2.4 (168Hp/=) from the same engine use on the Estima Camry Harrier etc.

For Thailand and third world , Mmmmmm .Let just provide back the 2.0 L 1AZ-FE dual VVT-i technology (140 hp) at 6000 rpm 4 Speed auto .

BUT . . .AZ engine intro in 2000 , hmm , let use it for a next 7 year of Toyota Wish cycle , We still had a pile of 2.0 Camry 1AZ-FE and Wish 1AZ-FE in Thailand and Aust . . .

My Point is . . . Next year Mark X, Should be the Top selling automobile in Singapore but not as impressive when it was first launch year back.

Some customer today still had no idea such a great car from Toyota exist. a few time customer presume Mark X and Mark Zio due to the emblem logo , was from India or some new brand company due to the Cross emblem logo . . . . . . Hilariously once a CHINA guy (broker), came to my show last year with a Friend who a Singaporean was looking for Toyota Camry. The Singaporean glazes at the MARK X (old face lift) and ask if this car from some China Brand . . . and the China Broker told him is a call Reiz back home. He did most the sale talk , I just did the paper work

Wah if customer really thinks it Indian car than I must be really out of the world to think that it is a prototype Jaguar running around...when I first saw it. Though I do can understand why Toyota choose to put the X badge infront instead of its logo...

IIRC, I think the Wish also got their own unique logo.. the Allion and Axio also.
