It depends.....
When I'm alone, I usually signal.
When I'm lucky enough to have a lady beside me who allows me to put
my hand on her lap, then to hell with signalling. 
Unfortunately for me (and fortunately for other
road users), this doesn't happen often enough. In fact, almost
never before. 
(For some strange reason, my Jap car has its signal lever on the
left.....so my signal hand and my feel-lap hand are one and the
same.....so I can't do both).
