Besides civilian transporters, the SAF definitely have its own
organic capability to move MLC 60 vehicles around. Besides the
Tempest, we have had the CET and the AVLB around for a long time.
We can move them around in Singapore and in the possible areas of
operations. Our field engineers are all trained to build class 60
bridges, our amphibious engineers have the capabilities to
transport class 60 vehicles across water for many years.
the introduction of MBT requires significant changes to our
military doctrines, and required support to enhance its capability,
mobility and survivability. No country would sits around with these
problem unsolved, but I think in this case the SAF solved the
problem before we brought in the vehicles.
